Dean is taken by a succubus and Sam finds him. This fic is all about what is left unsaid - there is so much churning emotion between the surface of her Sam and Dean - it's breathtaking. I especially love the fact that the demon who takes Dean isn't all powerful - and that Sam dispatches her in such an anti-climatic way. The ambiguity in the story (was Dean captured or did he go willingly?) is also fascinating. Whereupon manages to convey so much with very few words which is why she is one of the best writers out there in the Supernatural fandom.They took the wrong road, but they didn't get lost. They always end up where they need to be and they're always in time. He sleeps, and there are roads, always, and there is fire.
